We took Aiden, Landon and Cooper to their very first NICU Reunion on Saturday. The Woman's Hospital holds a NICU Reunion every year for any baby that has spent time in their NICU. This year it was held at The Houston Children's Museum. They reserved the museum on Saturday afternoon and I could not believe how many people attended this event. I was even more amazed at how many families with multiples were there. We were surrounded by twin, triplet and quad families. Although there were families there with singletons there were by far way more multiples.
We were very excited to go to the reunion hoping that we would see some of the families that we meet as well as the nurses that took care of our boys while they were in the NICU. We did see Lauren who is one of the many wonderful nurses that took care of our babies. She recognized us immediately and even remembered the boys names. It was great to see her and to be able to thank her for taking such good care of our little boys while they were in the NICU. We also saw Tyler, Sophia and their families. Tyler and Sophia were in the NICU with Aiden, Landon and Cooper. It was great to catch up with these two families and see how much the kids have grown. This is for sure something that we will continue to take the boys to each year. I think that it is important for them to grow up knowing the wonderful nurses and doctors that took such good care of them while they lived in the NUCI for the first four weeks of their lives.
