Reflux
We just found out that all three babies have reflux. Someone almost always projectile vomits every feeding. The doctor put the babies on two different medications. They are taking Prevacid and Metoclopramide. The prevacid will help with the pain from the reflux and the Metoclopramide is supposed to help decrease the puking. We think it is working because instead of all three babies vomiting 3 to 4 times a day each, we are down to each baby vomiting only about once a day. We hope that this medication solves the problem and that the babies will outgrow this soon. We also bought Dr. Browns bottles yesterday. We were told by many people that these bottles will make a difference with reflux babies. So, we will see. I am willing to try anything at this point.

Happy 2 Month Birthday to Aiden, Landon and Cooper
Today is the babies 2 month birthday. At 2 months all of the babies are starting to show more of there personalities and become very spoiled. I cannot believe how much they have changed since I brought them home from the NICU. It seem like they are growing way to fast. Aiden is our sweet but feisty one if that makes since. He loves to cuddle, but at the same time when he is ready to eat, sleep or he is not happy he will let you know really quick. Landon is the most laid back. He just sits back and takes everything in and he LOVES to cuddle. The other morning when I went to get him from his crib he had the biggest smile on his face when he saw me. Talk about melt your heart!!! Cooper is for sure our biggest hand full. He cannot sit in one spot for too long. He is such a busy body and loves to be held while you walk him around so he can see what is going on. He is trying so hard to roll over and gets so mad when he can't. It will not be long. They are all such good babies and so much fun. I could not imagine life any other way. Jason and I have been blessed with three wonderful babies!
I have added lots of pictures so everyone can see how much they have grown and what the babies are doing at 2 months. Enjoy!

NO MORE MONITORS!!!!
Dr. West, the babies pulmonary specialist called today and said that the babies no longer have to be on there apnea machines. She downloaded the information from each machine and it showed that none of the babies have had an apnea episode in over a month. So, we have the machines sitting by the front door waiting for the company to come and pick them up.
Aiden and Landon are starting to look more and more alike. Jason still cannot tell them apart. He always has to ask me who he is holding. :) Aiden has more of a round face and Landon's face is longer. Also, Aiden has way more hair then Landon
Here are all three babies on there tummies. Cooper and Landon are lifting there heads and of course Aiden is just laying there looking at Cooper.

WHO IS WHO???

The babies are starting to play with each other. They used to just lay there and look at each other but just within the last 2 weeks they have really been interacting with each other. It is SO cute to watch them play. They grab each other and they will make noises back and forth. Here is Aiden and Landon playing.
The babies are for sure become a lot more spoiled. They love to wake up in the middle of the night because they know that Daddy will get them and let them sleep with him.

The babies practice lifting there heads during tummy time every day. Sometimes we have tummy time with the Boppy's and sometimes they just lay on their stomachs under there jungle play mat. Cooper and Landon are getting really good at lifting there heads. Aiden does not like it so much. He just likes to lay on his back and look around. Here is Cooper lifting his head.

This is how the babies used to sleep up until a week ago. Cooper is now in his own bed. He moves around to much and keeps the twins up when they are all together. Also, Aiden would lay there and try to grab Cooper until he would FINALLY make his way over to him and fall asleep. So now Cooper has his own bed and the twins are still sleeping together, but I am not sure how much longer they will share a bed because they are starting to keep each other up.

Sick Babies
It's been awhile since I have blogged, but the last week was a bit CrAzY. We are for sure learning what it is like to be parents of multiples. Up until this past week things have been pretty smooth sailing around our house. All we heard from people while I was pregnant was how hard it was going to be once the babies arrived. Actually, its not as bad a people think. They are REALLY good babies and give us no problems at all. My mom comes up to help on Friday and stays until Monday night. Jason is off on Tuesday and Wednesday so Monday until Thursday we are on our own and its not bad at all because we both feed the babies at each feeding and we can feed all three babies and have them back in there beds in about 45 min. Then Jason's sister Tina comes and stays on Thursday night. We are so lucky to have my mom and Tina who take time from their busy lives and come and help us and spend time with the babies.
SICK BABIES
It all started last Tuesday when we were getting ready to go to Smithville. We had just fed the babies and were about to put them in there car seats when Cooper threw up everywhere. This was not a spit up either. So, we put him in the tub to give him a bath and he seemed fine. So we went to Smithville and had a wonderful visit with mine and Jason's Grandparents. When we got home the babies seemed fine, just exhausted from our little trip. The next morning was a different story. By this time they all had low grade fevers and had all thrown up by 8 a.m. We called our Pedi. and he said it sounded like they had a stomach bug that had been going around. So, he said to give them pedialyte if they don't keep there formula down. So the next two days and nights were filled with crying, miserable and throwing up babies. Which means lots of baths and extra laundry. By Thursday it seemed like they were getting better and then that night Landon started throwing up again and then next day Cooper and then last night Aiden started. It seems as if they keep giving this bug to each other. We are finding out what life is going to be like with triplets. Once one gets sick.....they ALL get sick. It is not bad dealing with the crying and throwing up. The worst part is watching them lay there and looking so miserable. We are hoping that this will pass soon and all will go back to normal. What is "normal" when you have triplets?
BABIES WHO DO NOT WANT TO SLEEP
Lately we have babies who want to stay up and party in there crib. Two weeks ago it was Cooper who did not even want to be in his crib. He just wanted to be held. But that has passed and now all he wants to do is sleep. Aiden and Landon fight there sleep. Aiden does this more ofter than Landon does. They just lay in there crib and make noises back and forth to each other. They will lay there for an hour if not longer before they go to sleep. It does not bother me since they are not crying or fussy, but it becomes a problem because by the next feed time they are SO tired they don't want to eat.
Jealous Dogs
We have come to the conclusion that our dogs now hate us. Ivy, my dog that I have had for the past 12 years tried to bite me the other day (which is VERY unlike her) because I made her get off of the babies play mat. Yes, I said the babies play mat. I guess she has decided that the play mat will be HER toy / bed now. I need to start walking around with my camera because I will walk in the living room and find her sleeping on the mat. I try to sneak to go get my camera and I am never fast enough because she gets off the mat once she notices that I see her. I will catch her one day and I will get a picture. Chico, the other dog has been trying to take the babies rattle toys. I have to watch him really close because if not he will take the toys and chew them up. I keep telling myself that they will come around one day and they WILL learn to like the babies.
Sorry....No pictures this time. I have LOTS but I have not downloaded them to my computer yet. As I sit here and type this I have Aiden sleeping in my lap so I would rather NOT get up to get my camera to download the pic. and risk waking him up since it took him forever to go to sleep since he feels like crap today. Hopefully I will be able to get them downloaded this afternoon.

On Tuesday we made our first trip to Smithville for the day with the babies so that they could meet there Great Grandmother "Nanny" and visit there other Great Grandparents Granny and Pa-Paw. Jason had the day off so we loaded the babies up and headed for Smithville. This is the longest distance that we have traveled with the babies and they did GREAT. They did not wake up once on the way there or on the way home. We had a great visit. We also go to visit with one of my great friends Crystal and meet her precious little girl Lyla who is a month and a half older than the triplets. She is SO precious and smiled so big when she saw the babies. Our babies are so lucky to have such wonderful people in there lives. We had fun visiting all of these great people and cannot wait to make another trip down there.

Update on the new night schedule......
Well, the new night time schedule is no longer in action. My happy babies have now turned into unhappy tired babies. So, we are back on our ever 4 hour feeding schedule. In case you missed my post from last week, the pediatrician wanted us to put the babies down at night (10pm) and not feed of pick them up for 6 hours. He said to just let them cry it out if them wake up before the 6 hours (My babies are used to getting fed every four hours on the hour). This lasted for 2 nights. I could not sit there and listen to three screaming babies knowing they were hungry and just let them lay there. The boys are 7 weeks old, but in reality they were not supposed to be born until last Friday, so developmentally they are just not ready to be forced to lay there and cry. So, now that the babies schedule is WAY messed up I have babies waking up at all different times to eat, so this week we have been working hard to put them back on the schedule we had them on before. Slowly but surly we are getting back in the routine. I have always been told and am a firm believer that a rested baby is a happy baby and when my babies were on there previous schedule they were very rested and very HAPPY.

Melinda came to play with the Trio
Melinda
Thanks you so much for coming to meet and visit the babies. We all really enjoyed spending the day with you. You were so good with them and they cannot wait until you come back to play. Cooper said that he is sorry for throwing up on you and that if you come back he will be on his best behavior :) It was great catching up with you. Bring Clint next time and we will send the boys (Jason and Clint) not the babies to play golf and we can hang with the trio. Hope you have a good first week back at work and we will see you soon.
We will have to get lots of pictures on your next visit.

40 Weeks
Today the babies are 40 weeks gestation and it is our original due date before we found out that we were having triplets. After we were shocked by the exciting news that we were expecting triplets, we were scheduled to have a C-Section on July 3, 2009. Although they were born early, our babies are so strong and healthy and we are so thankful that we have had the past 7 weeks with them. It's hard to believe that our babies were not supposed to be here until today. The babies will be 7 weeks tomorrow and they are changing more and more every day. I cannot believe how much they have changed since we have brought them home from the NICU. Jason and I are for sure blessed with healthy beautiful babies!!!!!!!!

Busy Week.....
Wow....What a week already and it is only Wednesday. Well the week started off with a visit from Dori and Sage on Monday. Sage FINALLY got to come and visit the babies. After 6 long weeks of waiting as patient as she could, she finally got to meet her three baby cousins. I wish you could have see the look on her face when she walked through my front door. I was holding Cooper and she ran over and said "you have Cooper." Sage is probably my number one fan on my blog. She makes Dori pull it up daily to look at pictures of the babies and Cooper is by far her favorite. When I told her that she would be on my blog since she came to visit, she made sure she took as many pictures possible with the babies. She says Cooper is her favorite, but she likes Aiden and Landon too.
OUR TUESDAY ADVENTURE
On Tuesday Jason and I took the babies to my school (School at St. George Place) to visit some of the teachers I worked with. We stayed way longer that planned so Drue (Principal) and Carolyn got to feed the babies. It was really great to see everyone. I had not seen a lot of the teachers since I went on bed rest back in April.
After we left the school, Jason decided that he needed a new pair of shoes so we took the babies to Sports Authority. They were SO good. People always say that they have no idea how we go anywhere with three babies. It's not getting the babies out........ its' once we get to where we are going that the adventure really begins. Getting all three babies ready, getting them in there car seats and in the car is a piece of cake. Once we reach our destination, we are stopped by dozens of people and we are asked tons of questions about the babies. I guess since we are triplet parents is doesn't seem weird or different to us, but people are so amazed that we have three babies and that we were "brave" enough to take them out of the house.
Wednesday
Today (Wednesday) we had a Dr. appointment with the babies pediatrician, Dr. Ho. The babies have all gained almost a pound each since last week. They are VERY healthy little babies.
Aiden - 7 lbs. 4 oz. and 20 1/4 inches long
Landon - 7 lbs. 2 oz and 20 1/8 inches long
Cooper - 8 lbs. 4 oz and 20 3/4 inches long
My babies will be 40 weeks gestation this Friday, August 14, 2009. It is hard to believe that my babies were actually supposed to be born this Friday. They have grown SO much and we can actually say that they are no longer little preemies. They have now graduated to the newborn status. Dr. Ho was very pleased with the progress that they have made since birth. Now that they have gained weight and are strong and healthy he suggested that we adjust there schedule and get them to sleep at least 6 hours a night. Up until today they have been eating every 4 hours and are up for about an hour between each feeding. So, that means they would eat at 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm, 11pm and 3am. Dr. Ho said that we needed to choose a bedtime for them and then once they are down for the night that we should not pick them up or feed them until 6 hours have passed. I have NO idea how I am going to let my babies lay there and cry. But, like he said it is different when you have three babies. It is SO important that they are on a very strict schedule, so that Jason and I and the babies all get enough sleep. Oh, and we are not allowed to give them a pacifier. Tonight will be there real test. We will put them down at 10pm and see how crazy it gets and see how much crying we can stand. Dr. Ho said that if we stick to this schedule that they will be sleeping through the night within two weeks. Man I hope he is right because on a normal day I cannot go 30 seconds listening to them cry. I always have to pick them up. So, I will give you an update soon to let you know how our new adventure goes.
